ADULT CHOIR Our Adult Choir is open to anyone high school age and above. They usually sing on the first and second Sundays of the month and rehearse on Monday nights as scheduled. Repertoire spans the musical eras from early music to new music composed by living composers. They also provide music for special services including our annual Dixieland Mass, Advent Lessons & Carols, Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday, and frequently collaborate with other choirs in the greater Annapolis area.
THIRD SUNDAY BAND (click here) The Third Sunday Band offers contemporary Christian music on the third Sunday of the month during the program year. Influenced by diverse musical styles, TSB crafts unique arrangements of Christian songs and traditional hymns and draws on a collection of original music to provide contemporary music for a traditional setting. TSB features acoustic and electric guitar, keyboard, harmonica, mandolin, flute, and percussion along with rich harmonies in a blend of folk, rock, country, reggae, jazz, and blues styles. They lead the music for special services, including our annual Celtic Mass and Bluegrass Mass, and they set the standard throughout the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland for contemporary Christian music.
HANDBELL ENSEMBLE St. Margaret's launched its handbell program in September 2022 for all ages and ability levels. The handbell ensemble plays three octaves of Malmark handbells for select worship services during the program year. A great opportunity for anyone to develop basic music skills. Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights as scheduled. We hope to launch a component for children and families utilizing chimes and KidzPlay handbells in the near future.
COMPLINE SCHOLA The Office of Compline is scheduled periodically throughout the program year and is sung by a Compline Schola. Singers are drawn from the adult choir and the wider parish. Anyone in high school age and above is welcome to lead the music for this meditative and contemplative service of plainchant and a cappella choral music.
